WILX News 10 NBC Local Network Affiliate In Lansing, Michigan
The WILX-TV station is the NBC local network affiliate in Lansing. It is licensed to Onondaga, Michigan, and Gray Television owns it. The station’s studios are on American Road near I-96 in Lansing. WILX-DT2 is the station’s local weather channel. In November of 2003, the station began airing on channel 27.
Until December of 1982, the only local television station in Lansing, Michigan, was owned and operated by Flint’s WJRT-TV. The station aired an analog signal on channel 47 and was initially supposed to be an ABC affiliate.

NBC Local Network Affiliate In Grand Rapids, Michigan
As the NBC local network affiliate for the city of Lansing, Michigan, WILX has been growing. By 2021, it will be broadcasting 30 1/2 hours of locally produced news each week.
Weekdays, it airs five and a half hours of news. Morning and midday news are aired at 11 a.m., afternoon news is broadcast at 4 and 5 p.m., and evening news is broadcast at 11 p.m. and Saturday evening news is also broadcasted at 6 and 11 p.m.

Grandwood, Michigan’s WLAV, was in talks with The CW to become an NBC local network affiliate. At that time, however, the local station relied heavily on professional sports during prime time.
While this may have been an advantage for the CW, there were concerns regarding the pre-emption of programming, which made WXSP reluctant to join. Nevertheless, it remains a viable option for the Grand Rapids area.
